and B,well he just rules the earth, lol

and Darren likes to spar...ok,YES you are THE king of all sparring media.
<font size="4" face="Arial">Indeed, Carl can out-sarcastic anybody - maybe
it's because of all the H20 his shiney head is
exposed to, or all that horrible punk rock he
listens to, giving him special powers! Bless
him.

Yes, I like to spar (because I'm a prolix [over-
wordy], over-educated twit), but never maliciously,
I hope.

Edit: I forgot to say, that I think Babydolls
would be in my list of obscure bands I listen
to. The Babydolls demo, anyway - the album that
followed was sub-goth pants. It's not a great
demo (lyrically, productionally, imagery) but
it possesses a certain naive, harmless charm that
I quite like. Actually, I think they were kind of
cool-looking in a kooky kind of way.

Was never a Babydolls fan...I had been hearing so much about them and the hype got me curious to want some of their tunes. When I finally got my hands on some Babydolls demos, I was disappointed. After getting to hear a band that was talked about a lot, the end result was me wondering why all the hype.

Geez, I think I just got a compliment from D.!!! I am actually happy that the sarcasm isn't lost on you folks. It does get lost in some areas quite easily. But to be honest with you, I never realized how sarcastic I was at times.

Donna, nice switch of topics. This is almost embarrasing.

On topic now:

The Beauties - Hardly under-rated, just pure boring crap. This is what happened to Glam when it wanted to mix in with Grunge. I'll stick with Kill For Thrills, thank you. But even they were just O.K.
Tonto Tonto - O.K. Kitty, enough of your Village People infatuation please.
The Beautiful - Not heard of them. I don't think. May have.
Moonwater - See above.
Lions & Ghost - We both know how we both feel about them. Going back to them though, they are not as brilliant as they were at the time. Still enjoyable, but alsi dating a bit poorly.
Cliffs Of Doneen - Heard of them, but can't remember shit. The name makes me think of Eric Johnson though.
The Front - Never got into them. Biker meets The Cult if memory serves. A buddy was REALLY into them, but they never clicked.
Burning Tree - Same buddy was into them, and I had the same result as I did with The Front.
Under Neath What - Loved them, have tried getting topics going on them here. Recently went back to listen to them again, and found I now understand why all of my friends thought I was crazy for loving them. Boring stuff. Not standing the test of time at all, except maybe "Firebomb Telecom" and the song about coffee.

For my bands that were under-rated, at the WAY top of the list would be:

EDAN!!!

I will never understand why so few people discuss these guys (O.K., this guy) as they were a brilliant band made up of kids of famous people! Hell man, Edan Everly and the son of Dion hooking up for a brilliant straight up RnR band!?! How could you NOT love them? The main problem was they came out at the same time as Black Crowes, and BC became a larger hit. I always prefered Edan though. Great RnR with a unique voice, implementing soul in a great way, unlike many other RnR bands.

I also never understood how Little Caesar never became HUGE. Ron Young is easily one of the greatest voices of our time. Extremely powerful, and extremely soulful. I still want to see him front a full blown classic soul outfit, or release an album of nothing but Motown classics.

Carl, your predisposition for preponderance sarcasm
is lengendary, trust me.

'Edan' and 'Lions and Ghost' are terrible band
names - so bad, in fact, that I'm curious about
them. Mail me some music.

Carl,
I thought Edan was pretty good in a Stones meets Bang Tango kinda way...Not too bad of a band.

I agree with you on Little Ceasar.....Always wondered why they didn't score higher with their cds.

Darren, I'll rip the cds this weekend and send first thing Monday morning from here(work).

Edan - To me had a Stones/Bang Tango vibe going on. More sleazy psychedelic Image of a band...Kinda Kik Tracee look.

Lions & Ghost - Same thing with the image, that bluesy sleazy psychedelic look. Their music is a love or hate thing. They remind me of a more rockier The Church.

Who the hell are The Church? It all sounds good,
though, and I look forward to checking them out.
Wopper sent me two Silver Ginger mp3s today. They
reminded me of - what are they called? - the band
which did 'Pope's On Dope' and 'Dysfunctional'
etc.

i've always loved:
Phantasm
Uranium 235
Ten Inch Men
Vampire Love Dolls
Stranger

i remember the front had a pretty good tune called fire but i don't think i liked the rest of the cd when i listened to it. as for underneath what, i remember buying that on someone's recommendation that they sounded like hanoi rocks. to me they didn't and i probably didn't give them a chance after that. i should dig out the cd and give it another listen.

marcus, as for the rest of yours, i've never heard them and carl, i had/have that edan cd but i don't remember it doing anything for me (for some reason i'm lumping them in with valentine saloon, they might have sounded similar or it might be just too early in the morning for me) and little ceaser, are they the ones who did chain of fools? that was a real good tune.

The Beauties - An okay band, not nothing to fuss about, more of a rock sound.

Tonto Tonto - Great band, Always reminded me somewhat of Stevie Wonder tunes yet more rock. Cool band for relaxing and mello-ing.

The Beautiful - Tripped out rock'n'roll, this band is an acquired taste.

Moonwater - Gene Loves Jezebel on some kinda psychedelic drug. This band was kinda spooky sounding...and I don't mean as in BOO spooky. Just the tunes were strange and mumbling uncoherent babble talk thru some intro tunes.

Lions & Ghost - Love Lions & Ghost. They had that rock/jangly acoustic sound to them. Me being a THE CHURCH fan...I love Lions & Ghost due to them reminding me of that band.

Cliffs Of Doneen - I own two cds from this band....it's a hit or miss. For you U2 or The Cult fans, check them out...they fall into that category.

The Front - Always found this band to be excellent. Saw them open for Alice Cooper....Had to get their cd the next day. They had that INXS meets The Doors meets The Cult thing going on. I always thought they were more of a rock-n-roll INXS.

Burning Tree - Good band....Hard to pinpoint their sound since they didn't keep it in one style.

Under Neath What - Pretty good band in my opinion. Simple Rock is what I call their style...nothing flashy nor with over-done guitar solos. They just kept it simple, which to me worked well for them. My fave tune has to be STRAIGHT AHEAD MONEY PEACE OUT.
